Entrapment at the Museum of Weed
A pop-up museum experience in Los Angeles, the Weedmaps Museum of Weed was a temporary educational and entertaining walk through the history of marijuana. They needed a dynamic way to explore the way media led the war on drugs.
Taking advantage of the Museum of Weed’s CRTV exhibit and designing for 30-year-old technology was a challenge, but I couldn’t pass up telling a story that’s so imperative for today’s political climate. I adapted a 6-minute presentation with iconic television spots and speeches to create meaningful juxtapositions and patterns across the thirteen mounted TV sets, telling a narrative of a hasty political response to manufacture a nation-wide war against marijuana. With added sound effects, motion graphics, and editing, I leaned into the 90’s aesthetic with this impactful tour of the “Just Say No” generation.
